Serving as a core board member, I was responsible for organizing cultural events

My Indian culture has always been a unique aspect of me that I've celebrated. My parents emphasized my mother tongue Tamil, cultural traditions and norms, and our rich heritage while raising me and ensured I had a rich understanding of our history despite living on the other side of the world. Coming to Stanford, I wanted to spread that sense of community and belonging I received back home to the rest of campus life.

As a member of the board, I helped organize many events such as Indian-Jewish cultural night and RHYTHMS dance festival to showcase our South Asian roots. I met many fantastic people of the brown community that I otherwise would've never seen.
